Hours of Operation & Closures

Aurora Youth Options (AYO) begins hybrid programming January 2022.

AYO is excited to offer programming in-person and virtually as of January 2022. With the idea that COVID-19 continues to show a reduced rate of spread you will have the opportunity to join through either the in- house or online communities.

Drop in, Homework Help and in-person program communities will take place at identified locations throughout the Aurora area, or our new AYO multipurpose room located at 1290 Chambers Rd., Aurora, 80011, just South of Colfax.

To attend in-person activities we ask that you wear a mask and follow all AUMHC COVID-19 safety protocols. These protocols have potential to change frequently, so, we will keep you posted as they occur. Watch for updates on the website and through social media. If a change occurs, everyone registered will receive a text or email directly.

Begin considering the options that are best for you. We are available to help you think through what makes sense for you, your youth or match relationship. As always working together we will meet the needs for Aurora youth!

Normal Operating Hours

Generally, our office hours are Monday-Friday from 9-5pm.

Currently, our office is 100% virtual. Please contact us at ayo@aumhc.org or 303-617-2660

Due to the nature of our community based work, appointments are recommended.

Drop In Night

Currently, we are not offering drop-in night in person.

Youth interested in participating in the Aurora Youth Options program should complete the nomination form and youth survey.
Please email your nomination form to ayo@aumhc.org and you will receive a call from a youth specialist and information on how to complete the online survey.

Operating Procedure

AYO follows Aurora Mental Health Center's (AuMHC) scheduling protocols. This means that if AuMHC is closed, AYO is also closed.

Weather

If inclement weather conditions call for a necessary closure and AuMHC closes, AYO will also close. The closure announcement will be made to local television channels: CBS 4, ABC 7, NBC 9, and FOX 31 and will appear under the title "Aurora Mental Health Center." These channels serve as the primary resource for weather closure information.

Activities

If both Aurora and Cherry Creek Public School Districts close/cancel school, AYO activities will also be canceled. Activities include Homework Help and Tutoring and Drop-In.

Trainings and Weekend Activities

In the rare event that an evening training or weekend activity must be canceled, every effort will be made to contact all affected participants. In addition, the voicemails of both the event/activity organizer and the main AYO phone line will be updated with necessary information.
